Coconut Macaroons

These quick tasty treats are yummy. Here is a chance for the kids to make a recipe for Mum and Dad.


INGREDIENTS

  • ⅔ cup all-purpose sifted flour

  • 5 ½ cups flaked coconut

  • ¼ salt

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1.5 T pure vanilla extract


DRIZZLE

  • 1/2 Cup of semi sweet chocolate chips


DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or coat with a non stick cooking spray.

  • In a large bowl, stir together the flour, coconut and salt.

  • Slowly stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.

  • Using an ice cream scooper or melon ball scooper drop dough on the cookie sheet. Cookies will be either be the size of half a fist or a golf ball.

  • Press down with your fingers slightly

  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until coconut is a a light brown.

  • Cool the cookies completely

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted

  • Place into a piping bag or plastic bag

  • Cut the tip and drizzle on the cookies.

  • Once the chocolate has set.

  • Enjoy!
