Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted and just warm to the touch

  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1.5 T vanilla extract

  • 1 t cake batter extract

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 T nonfat milk or Nut milk

  • 1 ¼ t granulated salt

  • ½ t baking powder

  • ¼ t baking soda

  • 1 Cup of Pecans (Optional)

  • 12 ounces dark chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup flaked salt or Coarse-grained sea salt

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Mix the sugars together in a large bowl then add the melted butter.

  • Stir until combined 30 Seconds to a one minute.

  • Add the egg, milk, cake batter and vanilla extract to the mixture.

  • Hand mix for 1 minute or combined.

  • Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until just combined.

  • Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans (pecans optional).

  • Chill dough for 15 - 20 minutes.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with a non-stick spray.

  • Once chilled scoop dough out of bowl with an ice cream scooper on a baking sheet.

  • Sprinkle salt on the top of each cookie before baking.

  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Do not overbake

  • Let the cookies sit for at least 10-15 seconds before transferring to a cooling rack.
