Turkish Kadaif

This was one of the many desserts we had the chance to try while living in Turkey, I hope you take some time and try this recipe. It is one of my favorite Turkish dishes. Sweet yet with a mild flavor.


INGREDIENTS

  • Kadaif Rolls 18oz Package

  • 1 cup Pistachios

  • 2 cup chopped Walnuts

  • 3 t of Butter

  • 4 C Whole Milk

  • 3 T of Vanilla

  • 4 C of Granulated Sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place Kadaif in a 9x13 baking dish (On its side). Sprinkle half of the walnuts inside and on top.

  2. Melt the butter and pour it over the Kadaif. Sprinkle with the remaining walnuts then arrange the Pistachios on top of each Kadaif Roll.

  3. Bake at 350 until it turns a golden color.

  4. Let it cool completely.

  5. Combine remaining ingredients to make a syrup and bring to a boil.

  6. Reduce heat and then boil the syrup about 20 min constantly stirring.

  7. After 20 minutes pour it over the Kadaif Rolls.

  8. Let soak for at least 3 hours before serving.

  9. Enjoy!
