Vegan Dinner Rolls

When some people hear vegan, they may roll their eyes in the back of their head and think, "YUCK!". Not in this case, these Vegan Dinner Rolls will surely trick your guest and they will be shocked to learn they are vegan. Go ahead give them a try.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 t salt

  • 3 T granulated sugar

  • 1 packet rapid-rise yeast

  • 2 cups unbleached sifted all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup Almond, Cashew, or Soy Milk

  • 3 T Vegan Butter, I use Country Crock

  • 1/4 cup water

DIRECTIONS

  • Add 1 cup flour sugar, salt and yeast to a large bowl

  • Over low heat, combine butter, milk, and water. Stir until the butter is melted.

  • Use a thermometer to make sure the contents of the pan does not reach above 115.

  • Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients

  • Stir for at least 1 minute.

  • Add 1/2 cup flour and stir until combined and slowly add the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

  • Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.

  • Divide the dough into equal balls and place in a greased 9x13 baking dish.

  • Cover with plastic lightly or warm damp cloth until they double in size.

  • Bake in a preheated over of 375 for 15-20 minutes.

  • As soon as they come out of the oven use a stick of vegan butter and rub the tops of each roll.

  • Enjoy!
